Anyone a member? How long does it take to get your books? For them to get shipped? Anything good/bad things about Crossings? Just curious as I just joined online and ordered my enrollment package as well as another order of books. I like the "Bill Me" option too. Just wondered what experiences other have had with crossings

mine was okay, but their general catalogue is definitely more pop or christianity lite and "feel-good" fiction/ devotional oriented. they don't range very far in their subject matter or book selections. then again, they aren't about that - they intentionally want to hit the largest possible market.

I have been a member a long time although I rarely order anymore. The books usually came quickly. If you order with a special promotion like free shipping or buy 2 get 1 free--be sure to check your bill--they often get that wrong. But their customer service is good and it is taken care of with one call.

I tried them several years ago. They were a nightmere. The service was terrible, and they keep sending me stuff I never ordered. They also kept screwing up my account. The customer service was rude, and totally unhelpfull. I had to threaten them with leagal action a few times before they finally left me alone. This was several years ago, so maybe they have changed.

I was a member many years ago and just got a flier in the mail again today asking me to come back. I would if I thought I'd read the books, but they don't have anything I'd be interested in as I don't have time for fiction. I know a lot of people who like those books... I was reading Jeanette Oke at the time... Like techne said, they don't have a broad range of books. But if you're looking for the books they offer, it's a good service. I never had any complaints.

When I was with them, their service was pretty good. But now, they offer nothing I really want.

I was a member about a year to a year and a half ago. The orders do come pretty quickly, but the selection was pretty weak. I just use christianbooks.com now. I had the same problem with them as musicboss. They started sending stuff that I had no interest in. I'm a guy, and I do not appreciate being sent books that are geared towards women. I also have no interest in christian fiction books, except maybe the Left Behind Series. They have been sending me magazines and emailing me with offers ever since. Do yourself a favor, get it set up so that nothing will be sent automatically. (They do a preferred book club thing that they just send out if you do not decline the offer) Otherwise, you will wind up getting some pretty lousy books that you have no interest in.

I'm presently a member and I fulfilled my purchase requirement. I should warn you that it can be quite spendy. Don't allow the promotion to sway you. At the end of the year they usually offer a special for $9.99. Most books are available for this rate. It was offered through Crossings and their Good Cook book clubs last year and I took advantage of it. However, I find that unless you really wish to keep a particular book you'll be better off using other methods. Many of their offerings are available at your local public library. Or look at their less expensive cousin - BOMC2. This was formerly called Zooba and I've been with them for years and never had a problem. You may wish to join the Borders Rewards program and wait for their 30 and 40% off coupons which arrive each week. You'll end up paying the Amazon rate utilizing them. Good luck.
