Will it be a long weekend holiday for you this Thanksgiving, or do you only get Thursday off?

I help a lady out at her store. Whether I go in or not after Thanksgiving is determined by how fast her pneumonia heals.

Do you consider driving 3 hours, then fighting crowds all day in the outlet malls to be work? If so, then yes.

Its actually an office for the federal government (we are contractors though). But its commonplace at any office in michigan because all the automotive plants and most of the suppliers shut down. (well actually the federal government pretty much does too)

I've always had the day off myself as long as I can remember. This might be different back when I worked in retail though.

I am my disabled sister's caretaker, so no, I don't get that day off, nor even Thanksgiving day...I can't starve her just because it's Thanksgiving, lol. Not that I'm complaining, I love being home with her, and when I'm sick or overwhelmed with something, my mom is good about feeding her for me, especially as she is now recovering well from her breast cancer. She even thinks when she really heals, we may go back to when my hours were 9 am -3 pm Mon-Fri, but that won't be for a while yet, my mom is not quite healthy enough for that yet.
