Odd how so many on a Christian message board celebrate the imminent election of such a blatantly anti-Christian candidate....

rcamejo01 Tell me about your chruch family and your involvement with them in their benevolance work. I ask because you seem to be running on fear. I think if you were active in your chruches efforts to help the less fortunate you would see that for you and your children (you are God's child) he has enacted an unbrella of protection and support for you all. I have always been pretty active in the chruch benevolance ministries in the chruches I have attended over the years. Something I learned that no one can ever take away from me is this: When "you" allow your hands to minister to people in the name of Christ, donate your money to people in the name of Christ, hug someone in the name of Christ, give of your talents in the name of Christ. God begins to reveal something wonderful to "you". He shows you that "HE" is the one who put you exactly in that position so that 'you' could meet someone needs. What you begin to understand is that it's easy for God to drop a stranger into your life that can come and help meet ever need you are concerned with. You know he can do that because he has used "you" in the past to do that. Your faith will grow by leaps and bounds and you will understand that Peace mentioned in the bible. You will begin to not "fear the future" because you know without a doubt that God is alive and working to care for His children in ways we can not imagine.

For those of you who are living in economic fear. Please go to the financial forum and read the testimonies of Annie and ImaChristian. (on the last two pages under the "tithe" folder) I know many of you want to blame our President. I don't. When I read my bible I see that it's God's hand involved because of "us".....not someone else. If you are having a hard time with your finances www.crown.org has free money coaches who can help you handle Gods money His way. How can you know if you are in his will in that area of your life if you don't know what his word has to say? Even if you think you know check out crown just to make sure. The library is filled with wonderful teachings.

SO! When do we get the OBAMA CRITIQUE-One Stop thread! I bet that one will dwarf the popularity of this one. :D The treatment of Bush wasn't a disgrace for the reasons in that article. Starting with the mass creation of negative tax liability, the absolutely absurd deficits, the ridiculous new laws concerning terror, the trumped up and exaggerated reasons for going to war with Iraq, No Child Left Behind, going to war in Iraq with a strategy that called for us to be there for a few months that lacked troops funding and leadership, increased negative tax liability and his begging of the Congress to make it permanent, his telling the Dems to write up more tax cuts for poor people so he could include them in the '04 budget, his refusal to even once acknowledge the help Dems gave him in their bipartisan support of the Iraq war initially, that lousy medicare drug plan, his insulting us by saying we were shiftless and lazy and he needed to let all the Mexicans move in to take our jobs (Ann Coldheart's paraphrase of his immigration reform plans that endeared him very well to the Dems until the Republicans lost the majority and he basically yanked it by refusing to negotiate with them over it), his blatant refusal to look at any change or any different way of doing things in Iraq until AFTER he succeeded in giving the dems back control of both houses of Congress, oh yeah the continously increasing of government and the deficit, his continous use of dubious negative tax tax cuts, his welfare for everybody package masquerading as an economic stimulus, the individual business bailouts, the still increasing and bloated deficit and the greatest government increase in the private sector ever when it gave the Fed $700,000,000,000 worth of money to take over the banks oh and let us not forget that Afghanistan has been so mismanaged that Gates recently went panhandling around to a bunch of countries begging for troops since we're too busy sending them on their 100 years worth of tours in Iraq til they die and recently decided that we need to respin that war and call it a purely AFghani project since it's their country so it's their war. Like Socialism? Dubya gives out billions every year at tax time and has given out about 1 trillion above and beyond that this year plus another $300,000,000,000. Like Big Government? Dubya made it bigger than it has ever been and the government gives out more than it has ever given out. Like intrusive laws that wouldn't have been neccessary had laws that were already on the books been followed? You got that with the Patriot Act and the like. Appreciate the fact that the Republican Revolution of the '90s succeeded in getting control of the Executive and both Houses of Congress only to have all of it lost 8 years later? He's your man. I guess in all seriousness if you used to go to sleep, shedding billyuns and billyuns of tears in your pillow because the big bag Osama bin-bogeyman was out to get you and your family then you probably think he was great. I was never a coward though and I never for a minute let him bother me. It'll be a cold day in H, E, Double Hockey Sticks before I let some no good terrorist yellow bellied piece of dung influence me to want to give up or inconvenience myself by making the government bigger. So yeah maybe I don't appreciate that last one like I should. But man if I hated Republicans I would probably send him a Thank You card because he succeeded in setting up the Dems to do what they couldn't have possibly done without him and that is to wreck the Republican Party. Good Job Chief you good Conservative you. : )

I have become disillusioned with the republican party, and am in a funk because there is no where else to turn to. I only pray that Obama will govern with wisdom....and from the center.

I ran into this classic article from The Onion: quote:
Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over' January 17, 2001 | Issue 37•01 WASHINGTON, DC–Mere days from assuming the presidency and closing the door on eight years of Bill Clinton, president-elect George W. Bush assured the nation in a televised address Tuesday that "our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over." "My fellow Americans," Bush said, "at long last, we have reached the end of the dark period in American history that will come to be known as the Clinton Era, eight long years characterized by unprecedented economic expansion, a sharp decrease in crime, and sustained peace overseas. The time has come to put all of that behind us." I highlighted the date because that is almost too funny. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28784

How badly did George W. Bush damage the Republican Party? Check out this disturbing figure. The recent CNN Gallop Poll shows that 58% of the American People have a favorable view of the Democratic Party. But only 34% of the American People have a favorable view of the Republican Party, this has got to be alarming. To put in lamens terms, the American People think the Republican Party is totally incompetent. So my question is, what is going to happen to the GOP? Its kind of scary, huh?

I'm not here to critique George Bush. I'm more concerned for the future of the Republican Party. I think it is fair to say that the GOP brand is damaged and it needs to be fixed. We need to stop living in denial. As Mike Huckabee said on Fox News "the Republican Party is soon going to be irrelevant as the Whig Party unless they start focusing on the working-middle class of America." We need to start giving our undivided attention to the middle and working class of America, ASAP.

Please forgive my comments for being a little off topic. I feel that there is nothing basically wrong with the Republian Party except that it refuses to become like the Democratic Party, and as a result they have a great amount of difficulty promoting their ideas and programs. People who constantly shout, are constantly critical, and disruptive usually get the most attention. Thus they tend to be more persuasive with their ideas, regardless how truely helpful they are. quote:

The Republican Party is just as concerned about the "middle class and working class of America" as the Democrats, but just in a more realistic and honest way, by which everyone benefits, and just a relatively small group of people.

When did you become a Republican Leon? I became one before I could vote at around age 14. The two parties were far more different in 1984 than they are now and they could actually work together. Now there is much less different and they are both farther to the left than they were then.

Since Obama is acting like he has already been sworn-in as President of these United States, I and others, suggest this is the best thing Bush can do is to show the Democratic Party that he knows how to put some good old fashion DEMOCRACY INTO ACTION: Bush should resign now. Then Dick Cheney becomes President Then he appoints Condoleezza Rice as VP. Then Cheney resigns two weeks later and Condoleezza Rice, A Republican, becomes the first BLACK - WOMAN President!!! Yeoweee!!
