Ugh, I'm so frustrated right now. I was visiting church members this morning, and over and over I keep hearing stories of daughters, granddaughters and nieces who are pregnant out of wedlock/having their 5th, 6th or 7th children even though they have already lost custody of their other children/having babies in jail/smoking, drinking and doing drugs while pregnant, etc. I know someone already mentioned a few days ago how hard it is to see people like this get pregnant over and over while we struggle. . .it just really hit home for me today. It doesn't seem fair.

I've been reading stuff on the internet that says spotting before your period could be a sign of low progesterone. Considering that I've spotted for a day or two before the last couple of periods I wonder if I should get that checked. Low progesterone was something my OB mentioned as a possibility after my last miscarriage, but he didn't seem to think it was necessary to get it tested until I get a positive pregnancy test. That just doesn't sit right with me though. . .wouldn't it make more sense to be proactive?

It makes sense to me to test it every cycle if that is suspect. I know on Clomid my doctor checked it every month, though mine was to make sure I was actually ovulating. Its just a simple blood test, maybe if you requested it again, she would do it? I think I would push the issue until she did it if it were me, lol.

Well I've moved since then and haven't had time to find a new OB yet. But I think I will try to find one and get tested soon.

Erin, I tried being "insistent" with my OB office here (who knows at least part of my history) but they still refused to schedule me for my first official appointment until I was nearly 9 weeks. I guess I just say that because OBs don't seem to be as "pro-active" in checking many things...at least that is what it seems. My concerns mostly stemmed from how long it took us to conceive. I try to keep up with y'all and hope that each of you will be able to "graduate" from this thread soon. Do we have anyone that is testing soon? I know there are some in their 2ww, so I was just curious.

Well, AF came today, so I am in my first cycle since miscarriage. And my cramps are a million times worse than normal. I think its a miscarriage after-effect.

I'm 6 DPO, had a dip today...Implantation dip? Who knows, fun to hope though. SIL said something funny yesterday, we were talking about something and she said "Itd be really neat if you found our you were pregnant again." I laughed it off, but the weird thing...she had NO IDEA we are TTC, and she claims she gets "feelings" about things. Oh yeah, and the last time she said something like that to me was the day before i went into labor with Isaac she said (in regards to my other SIL having the "first" grandbaby, unplanned, and unwanted while we were struggling) "wouldnt it be funny if her baby came late and yours early then you had the first grandbaby?" (and those who dont know our story..DS was born on her due date, 3 months early, he is 2 weeks older than his cousin) Does it mean anything, doubtful, but fun to hope.

Emily, there are also progesterone creams that you can buy OTC. I don't know anything about them, but it might be something to consider. Erin, crossing my fingers! Denise, I'm sorry, but I'm glad the wait is over. CD1 here. RE has me starting bcps today. Yuck. Seems so counterproductive, but he needs the lining to be thin for the hysteroscopy. So, this cycle is definitely out.

I wonder if it would be safe to use a progesterone cream without knowing for sure if my progesterone is low. I can't find much online about it.

I used a progesterone cream for a few months when I was TTC. There didn't seem to be any adverse effects, aside from delaying menstruation. I would have to take a home pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant before I discontinued the progesterone (which would allow menstruation to start).

Did your doctor ever tell you that your progesterone was low, or did you just decide to use it on your own?

I'm not TTCing, but I do use a progesterone cream because I spot for sometimes a week till my period starts. I've never had a problem with my period starting, it just did it on it's own. But even with the progesterone cream my prog was still low. I would still spot the day before. Maybe I needed to use it more.

I've been spotting for at least one full day, sometimes two before I start, plus cramping for up to 3 or 4 days before and bloating really badly. This stuff is all very new to me. Used to be I never had any idea my period was coming until the day it showed up. *sigh*

((((hugs)))) i know how frustrating it is to hope and wish and pray and then feel like you are - just to be dashed AGAIN.

Well. . .poo Saw my doc this morning. I have a bizarre blood sugar issue (brought on from chemo five years ago) and apparently, it's possible to have too LOW of blood sugar to "safely" get pregnant. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA So, now we wait another month. I start some meds later today, and will do the g/injects for two weeks - right through ovulation. So no baby making in my future this month, possibly next month as well. On the plus side. . .this does mean I can be a little more aggressive at the gym. That's a silver lining, right?

Through charting my cycles, my LP was on the short side of normal which is usually attributed to a progesterone deficiency. I would maybe get 12 days for my LP. Many times it was only 10 or 11. ((((Lily and Gracey))))--sorry to hear various things have put TTC on hold this month.
