Add me to the list of Titanic haters. I knew some Christian friends of mine who gushed, "You've got to see this! It's about man trying to be greater than God and what happens!" Yeah, the only message I got was "After a lifetime of devoted marriage and motherhood, I want to be buried beside the one-night-fling I had way back when!" Really uplifting there.

I had forgotten about ET. That came out when I was a kid and I hated it way back then. I don't know; maybe it's because I came from a stable, loving family so I just didn't get the whole childhood angst thing. And I thought the alien was ugly.

I loved the original Star Wars trilogy, but don't even get me started about the modern ones. I saw that one back in '99 with the annoying whining kid, and I swore I would never again see anything George Lucas put out. Evidently I didn't miss much. I heard a reviewer say that the second one, where Anakin falls in love, was so boring he fell asleep in the theater.

And in response to this, I may be the only person alive who thinks that the "new" Star Wars trilogy is vastly superior to the original three movies.

I join those who hate Top Gun, Castaway & ET. I also loathe those movies with Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan.

Million Dollar Baby - what was Clint Eastwood thinking? Unrealistic fight scenes and injury scenario, then they encourage her to commit suicide instead of being the fighter she was through the first half of the movie. Dissapointing.

Titanic - loved the ship, but sappy love story and bad acting.

Pirates of the Carribean 2 and 3 - Dark, stupid and gross. The first one was GREAT!

Dumb and Dumber - Didn't laugh once.

All Star Wars movies after Empire Strikes Back - waste of time, every one.

Cold Mountain - "I love you so much I want you to come back to me so you can die a dishonorable death!" Um, whatever.

Dances With Wolves - I wanted to love it, but it was soooooo loooong and sooooo booooooring for most of it. I fell asleep in the middle of it, woke up and it was STILL on. Gah.

I took my nephew (8 and 9 at the time) to see the Narnia movies and we BOTH hated them. He wanted the Witch to win, and I agreed.

I also hated Good Will Hunting.

Dumb and Dumber. It was just one long stupid line after another. I couldn't believe they actually thought is was a good idea to make a prequel.
Titanic. Too long, we all knew what was going to happen in the end.
Adams Family. Seemed like everybody else liked it, but I didn't
King Kong. You know, Jack Black ruined this for me. He was playing a character, and all of his best roles are just him being himself.

There are a number of them, but these come to mind off the top of my head:

"Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou" and "Waterworld"

I love threads like this because there are many movies mentioned that I'm thinking "Man, you are such a loser... how could you hate THAT!!!"

My additions are:

The English Patient- got about 5 minutes into it before I turned it off from boredom

Titanic-

Sleepless in Seatle, You've Got Mail, Joe vs. the Volcano... can you tell I've got something against the Meg Ryan/ Tom Hanks pairing?

I'm sure there are others.

I hated these:

Chariots of Fire: boring boring BORING snooooooooze

Good Will Hunting: so what if the guy's smart? He's a jerk.

Lord of the Rings (all three): old-timey, hokey, pointy-eared fairy tale junk.

Amen, sister, to the part about chick flicks. If you ever want to torture me, just put me in a room with those things endlessly showing.

I hated "You've Got Mail," too, even though my female relatives loved it. "My giant corporation just squashed your 50-year-old family business. Don't you love me?" I think that was one of the worst endings I have ever seen in a moive.
