I'm definitely quiet in a crowd of people I don't know. I tend to prefer small groups, and groups where I know at least one other person. So, I guess I'll vote that it takes me a little while to warm up. Also, I don't do well when I'm the center of attention and public speaking is VERY difficult for me, although I'm always told that I do quite well when I have to speak in front of a group.

this one is difficult for me to answer, I certainly dont consider myself shy or quiet...but I dont think that I am outgoing or loud either. I mean, I will be willing to pray at a bible study, say prayer for the meal, read the verses that bible study leader is asking someone to read etc, I am not affraid or embarrassed in any form to do that...but I am certainly not the life of a party either. (I hate to say it, but I am one of those people who can put you in your place quick with out ever raising my voice ....Jesus is helping me to keep silient and be slow to speak , have reign over my tongue) Shrugs, I dont know what I am.. I am just me :) I guess I would have to put outgoing...even though that doesnt really describe me either.

I can be both, but my natural tendency is to be an introvert. I think I've come out of my shell a lot, but it takes a Long time for people to get to know me. However, there are instances where I click with someone right away and they'd never guess that I'm shy. Also, when I'm in my element, like when I'm hiking, running, or biking, I can so easily talk to strangers and have a long conversations with them. I remember doing a five hour hike with a couple strangers I met on a trail and we even ended up having supper afterwards. NOt bad for an introverted girl, huh? lol. In these forums, I think it took about 8 months before I started talking to people as though I knew them. I used to just post, without really intending to connect. Now, I'm a little more comfortable around here. But for the most part, I'm a lot more reserved and quiet with people I don't want to let in my life. People at work has no idea about my personal life. I mean, not a thing other than I love hiking/climbing or what football team I cheer for. LOL. But I manage to have decent conversations with them. Does that mean I'm shy? Or just reserved.

I am reserved when meeting people, having grown up in a culture with very definite protocols governing human interactions. I have a "privacy fence" that I ask to be respected. I can chit-chat with complete strangers without feeling any shyness, but have personal boundaries for physical space-ie I DO NOT like to be hugged or kissed even on the cheek by people I do not know or am only acquaintenced with. With familyand friends I am very out-going and affectionate.

It honestly all depends on the circumstances. SOMETIMES, I can be extremely shy. But other times, I can be very outgoing. I mean, if I'm with a friend and they're introducing me to one of their friends, I'm shy. I don't talk. If I'm with a group of my friends, I don't care who sees me. I'm very outgoing and when I'm outgoing, I'm usually meeting new people. Um, let me see, if I'm alone and I want to meet new friends, I try to step out of my comfort zone and introduce myself. My senior year I went to a new school. WIthin a week, I gained 10 friends. Why? Because I started introducing myself. I bet theres more circumstances but I'm really not thinking that much, haha.

Almost always outgoing, but occasionally shy around authority figures.

more shy than outgoing... Im more of a person who scans the envirement, then enters when safe. i was super shy when I was a child.. cried when approached.. compared to that I am outgoing.. but not really. People say Im quiet untill they get to know me.. (we all get that). I work around a few big mouths and hate it, they never shut uo ever, I know thier life story, all of it, even what they ate last night. I cant stand it, then they approch me and ask why I dont talk much. Well, its because they prolly want to know my business... if theyd only ask about me it would be ok, they assume im quiet but ask me about God and i will not be quiet,

I don't know if I consider myself either one. I can definitely be shy when around people I don't know, but I'd say I'm outgoing once I'm comfortable around them.
