Actually the show starts back up next Tuesday, August 3.

Here is a recent blog with pictures of the Duggar family: http://bontragersingers.blogspot.com/2010/07/while-in-arkansas-kansas.html

They changed the date? Weird. I still have not decided if I'm gonna watch again or not. I'm interested in them as people and to see what happens in their family, but I also feel like I'm condoning ATI and Bill Gothard if I watch.

I won't be watching. I truly wish them well, and I pray for any daughters who wish for a career outside the home. But I just can't support them any more by watching their show.

I am not watching, I have a friend that follows the Gothard thing. She has lost a child due to drug overdose in April and now her 15 yr old ran away this week. I just cannot go there any more.

We probably wont watch, unless it just happens to be on and we have nothing else to do. We only watched because we wanted to see how the NICU was covered.

Huh. Looks like I will just have to argue with myself then.

So, does anyone actually know what the issue is this season that seems to have the family divided? k

Diet? Clothes? Chores? Names for numbers 20-25?

Actually, I have no idea what you're talking about. Is there a promo running or something?

I just ssaw their interview on the Today Show and wondered Meredith had to bring up a comment from an individaul about it being irresponsible for them to have another child?

I guess I still don't get why it's anyones business how many children they have and feel that they need to mention it.

If that were true, they wouldn't parade their 19 children in front of television cameras everywhere they go.

Because it's a convenient avenue to snark at people, snigger behind their backs at their stupidity, and/or feel excused to wish them some sort of pain or disaster. This is all appropriate and excuseable becase it's their fault for being in public. Normal behavior involving politeness in disagreement and other social niceties do not apply. If someone is in the public eye, we can be nasty and enjoy it. <shrug>

What they said this morning is what they've said all along...that they welcome children, even when the process by which they are given may be hard. Glad for Josie's sake the interview was done at home, and looks like it was a quick deal and not a big set-up, just everyone gathered in front of the "fancy kitchen" for the few minutes of the interview.

I think what we're seeing is the promos are Josie coming home, and two of the older kids leaving for a missions trip, both of which would have been fairly emotional. I don't see any division. ???

When you allow your family to become a tv reality show, you are inviting comments, opinions and such....good or bad.

If there is any sort of conflict, I bet it has to do with kids not wanting to tow the line anymore.

Oh wait, didn't a parent of Michelle pass away? That could be it too. I think that was right after Josie was released from the hospital. Lots of things hit the family at one time, as what normally seems to happen to anyone. So dealing with all of that could make for interesting tv...maybe.

On other forums, I'd say you're right. On this forum, I'd say people have been pretty good about discussing flaws they see in the Duggar's lifestyle and convictions, without being childish or malicious, for the most part.

I agree. Disagreeing with someone does not automatically equal snarky or rude.

So what happened to the new episode? Did it get bumped back to next week? All I have seen listed tonight are repeats from last season.

I think it was a new episode. Mostly showed the family minus Michelle and Josie back at home with the older girls parenting the younger kids. The older twins getting ready to leave on their missions trip. Michelle bringing Josie to the rental house with I guess a friend or social worker to help out. It was pretty uneventful.

I did see the commericial for the upcoming season. Does not look like anything dramatic or scandalous. Mostly just normal things families go through, just magnified because of the size of the family. Same old...same old.

Okay - I must have missed it (the previews had indicated that it was going to be Josie going HOME home - not to the rental house). I wasn't able to start watching until 11EST, so the episodes being aired were the Zoo Trip, the one with Michelle at the rental place while JB takes the kids to a convention, next is the one with the docs running tests on Josie, and then the last is the docs finding out about Josie's digestion issues (according to the onscreen guide)

I never said it did. I'm probably less like them than you might think. And I think ATI is trouble.

But there has been snark here, and enjoying the idea of things that would be hurtful to the Duggars, and unkind insinuations.

However, my comment was generalized, not just to here, because I didn't think Deb's post referred to just here.
