We have Colorado stores here too.

I've seen the menu as one of my snail mail pals sent me a menu when she was away on vacation with her family. They went to "Outback".

When you talk about Coke, do you mean the flavoured drink 'coke' or does that apply to all soda flavours?

Speaking for myself and people in this area, a coke refers to only a Coke. Other drinks are referred to "sodas" or "soft drinks." In some parts of this country they will call a soda "pop." The original word was, of course; a "sodapop." Some areas of the U.S. will say soda while other areas will say pop. Means the same thing and in this way you can tell what part of the country someone came from.

Down here in the South, everything carbonated is a Coke.

We call them soft drinks over here. Nothing soft about them when they accidentally come out of your nose though. LOL!

Soft, as opposed to hard drinks like whiskey.

Where are agapetos and manda? They're missing in action here!

We also have called them soft drinks, soda, pop, and, as Saltlight_2188 said, Coke.

Unless we're having a MoonPie, then it has to be an RC Cola!

Clearly you have never had Vernor's.

It is Ginger Ale (the ONLY ginger ale) and most people, when trying it for the first time will inhale to catch a whif of its aroma. This almost always results in a coughing fit because of how strong the ginger is in it. To laugh and send it up thru the nose would be quite painful.

We have Blenheim Gingerale down here. There are mild to hot versions of it. I'm not a fan, but nearly everyone else loves it.

And Euty's right...my gr-grandaddy always asked us kids if we wanted a "dope" (coke) and then he'd ask us what kind.

Trish, you are so weird. I mean that in a good way. I like Ginger Ale, but I like Canada Dry. Now, that's the ONLY real ginger ale...I think.

The "Colorado Store?"

walkbygrace, here in Sydney we have a chain of clothes/shoe stores called Colarado

"Colarado" stores I never heard of. But the "Colorado" store I have heard of. We have one here in town. But it's not clothing at all. They sell stuff to tourists like ashtrays made out of a block of wood from a tree stump. Or picture frames made out of twigs. Then, they have these cassette tapes with music and nature sounds. They have nice women's necklaces out of silver and gold plus some similar rings. And they have a whole bunch of hats and T-shirts that say "Colorado" all over them. Ya know....touristy stuff.

Sorry, Walkbygrace, I made a spelling mistake
It is Colorado. Did you see the link I posted above? I thought you might have known about the store as I think I remember you said you are from Colorado.

All I know about the state of Colorado is that is where the Rocky Mountain is, and I learnt that from a John Denver song. I used to like John Denver.

Do you live near the mountains?

Thanks Saltlight, does look yummo.

We have something similar called a Wagon Wheel, but it is not as big or thick as your moonpie. I used to love them as a littlie.

Um, thanks. I think...

I wondered what moon pies are too. Thanks for the link.

Nope. I'd never heard of Vernor's. I'm not a great fan of ginger ale. Wouldn't touch anything with a strong amount of ginger. I don't like it.

Have you ever had chicken that has coca cola in the recipe? One of my US penpals gave it to me years ago, but I've lost it. Don't want the recipe again, just wondered if you'd had it before.

I haven't heard of that one. However, there are a lot of BBQ recipes that call for some type of soda.
