I want to wallpaper my kitchen with cookbook pages. Have any of you ever
done this? How would you go about it and what can I do to seal them without
ruining the print?

Thanks.

Hmmm...sounds like it might be similar to decoupage, but I'm not sure what that would do to your walls.

Hmmm...other than that...I have no idea.

I just read this: http://www.theartfulcrafter.com/wallpaper-two.html

The actual article is directly down the center, but you have to read around all those annoying ads.

It sounds like it's what you want to do.

It sounds like a very cute idea. Would you do the whole room, or just one wall? I saw a study done with one wall papered with old (valueless) stock certificates. It looked neat.

I also heard about one woman who decoupaged a wall with pictures of Princess Diana! I don't want to know what that looked like.

I want to do the back splash area between the cabinets and the counter tops....there is one wall that will not be
included and I think I want to paint it a red/terra cotta color. My kitchen decor is roosters. But the cookbook
pages sounded practical.

I felt the same way when we took some down...good grief, what did they use to stick this stuff up? Cement?

I get my wallpaper fix from using "wallies." They stick well, but peel right off.

29redballoons...I painted a kitchen cabinet navy blue with a chili pepper color inside (reddish terra cotta color) and it looks fabulous! A great contrast and I bet your roosters will crow!

It sounds cute, and if you put them up right you might be able to use the recipes right off the wall. LOL

Red, I would get a piece of thin veneer or the thinnest wood you could and cut it to perfect size of backsplash and then decoupage or wallpaper THAT with the cookbook pages and adhere to the backsplash. Easier to get off in years to come and may even make you want to periodically change the look out if you adhere with screws hidden by trim or paper.

We're still trying to remove the old wallpaper paste in the same room....

We are looking into re-painting and decorating our kitchen and dining room area. These are really neat ideas and I would be keen to try some of them out too. Was considering tiling above the sink/bench area and around the stove. It would make it easier to keep clean. Thank you for these ideas

....... ooooo!!!! This is a wonderful idea!

I've seen this done at a previous church. The 'green' room for the band is wallpapered with pages from a very old hymnal. It's beautiful!!!!

I'm not sure how the process worked... but it was the neatest thing I've ever seen!

If you get it done... could you post a picture? I'd love to see it!
