yep it's a known bug here for a looooong time ... changing the filename locally on your harddrive before uploading again sometimes used to work for me ...

A few years back I was able to access the chat room. I was on dial-up then and still could. I stopped coming to Cross Daily for a while but came back earlier this year.
Now, I am with the same ISP, and have ADSL access but I am unable to access the chat room.
I have a free account, the same one I had before but I changed my user name/log on name. Do I need to sign up again for chat? If not, what could be stopping me from reaching the chat room.

Same here. Every page loads very slowly or not at all including my inbox.
Edit to say - this is sporadic. Sometimes it all works fine and other times it doesn't. Also I've been randomly logged out several times. That happened just now when I tried to edit this post. I had to log back in to be able to do it.

You should be able to login with your sallyannester account.
If you are using Firefox make sure you have the latest version.
To check click on the help link at the very top of your browser and then click where it says Check for updates.
Email fritz@salemweb.net if you still can't login.

If you have any text selected on your web page, and then press "Quote", its highly likely that your web browser is including all the selected text into the quote. I just selected junk on the bottom of the page and then pressed "Quote" to your post. The response window had your post and then the junk at the bottom.
Make sure you deselect everything before quoting.

I am getting the file too large message for my avatar to upload - it's only 80x80 and less than 2kb. But I see from previous posts it's a common problem so I'll just try again later. I'm on firefox. The exact same pic uploaded fine the other day for my profile pic!

I can't change my avatar at all today. When I try to upload a previously created avatar (and I KNOW the size is okay), it says file too large. And when I try to use a stock avatar, it doesn't say anything, it looks like it worked, but it doesn't change.

I tried to add my birthday month and day, but the system won't take it, even when I hit apply or ok. I've tried about 5 times without success. I really wanted to be able to do it today, because today at midnight on the 24th, is my birthday.

I normally log in through the CW portal. Lately (the past three or four days or so), I will be logged in and will open another tab to look at another website. Once I click back on the CW tab, I have been logged out and it shows I'm logged in as a guest. This is after only a few minutes. Once I log back in, it shows two of me in whatever folder I was in prior.

I haven't been able to upload an avatar for days ("file too large"). Why does this happen? For a long time now, there's only been small windows of time when we've been able to upload avatars. It's totally frustrating! Why is this?

Question: doe's anybody know if their is something wrong with the Popup chat & the Avatar Chat services?
we are attempting to help our minster get logged in.
can you advise if the Java chat (popup chat) is down or just not working anymore? all we get is scrolling lights!
I even tried to log into Avatar chat, (this morning) it said
(Connection failed! Maybe your network can't access the server, or the server is under maintenance, please try again later!)
PS: we have tried all the Versions of Windows OS's, XP, Vista, Win7 & from several different states/locations, including TN,TX, KS.

Getting a lot of Runtime Errors the past couple of days. And reloading the page isn't solving it this time around. Using Firefox 3.6.3, Windows 2000 Pro.
